Whilst trawling through some of the entries
for the SOUTHERN NECROPOLIS
IN GLASGOW I came across this entry:-
Row 8 - This monument erected in 1912
by members of the Institute of Engineers
and shipbuilders in Scotland to the memory
of JOHN ROBERTSON, engineer, born
10/12/1782, died 19/ll/1862 - maker of
the engine of the 'COMET' 1812, the
first steamboat that plied regularly in Europe.
